LIFE OUT LOUD
We've all been there - either on the giving or receiving end of it. You're physically somewhere and at the same time are fully distracted by your mind, your phone, your email, social media, what's going on across the room, the TV or even by what's coming up next... you get the point - OUCH.
This hurts greatly when on the receiving end of distraction, but it seems to sting a little more knowing that I personally just denied someone of my own presence. Our society has a tendancy to glorify the act of busy-ness. The reality is, we are horrible multi-taskers from the stand point of our truth and our presence.
So what can we do about it? Show up. Give the gift of your presence when you're with someone. Offer it up and allow for your true beauty to shine through. Can you remember a time when you were sharing a deep story with someone, catching up with a friend and you felt a connection? That connection was presence.

Bring one hand to your heart and one hand to your belly. Take five slow deep breaths from your belly to your heart and five slow exhales from your heart to your belly. You can only breathe in the presence. It doesn't exist in the past or in the future, so listen for your breath when you need to find your presence.
