LIFE OUT LOUD
But that doesn't mean you need to start over, or change who you are...
You can start exactly where you are, and be exactly who you are...
Healing will always be non-linear,
The mistakes you've made, will only lead you to growth.
So whatever pressure is looming over you,
Don't let it fool you into thinking you're not enough.
You are MORE than enough, just are you are.

I am celebrating ____________________
I've shared before, but 2018 has been a year of personal discovery, change and peeling back layers. It has opened up new discoveries and strengths within me that I hadn't had the willingness to access in the past. I am celebrating the courage and openness it has taken to seek out what I needed. While the journey is never truly "complete", I am so grateful to Graham for being by my side through it and for the excitement of what lies ahead. I rested into the hands of powerful mentors around me (thank you Leslie Huddart and Jenny Glick) and am thankful that I did.
A wise poet and author, Mark Nepo, said "Whatever it is that opens us is never as important as what is opens". Powerful perspective, right? And how many of us have experienced this? So I'm curious, what are you celebrating this year? What is it that has opened up?
Let's step out of 2018 and into 2019 with CELEBRATION of what the past year has brought us. In closing from this newsletter and from 2018, "What are you willing to give up, in order to become who you really need to be?" - Elizabeth Gilbert
FUMIGATION CLEANING SPRAY
I'm a major fan of easy, simple cleaning tools. And while I use the On Guard Cleaner Concentrate throughout our home on the daily, I stumbled upon this deep clean recipe (plus a few tweaks). The original recipe calls for Dawn dish soap, but in an effort to remove fragrance, sulfates (SLS/SLES), parabens and other toxic ingredients from my home, I opt for Honest brand dish soap. I also added dōTERRA Lemon Essential Oil because it's naturally anti-viral and anti-fungal.
When my little petri dishes bring home all the funky stuff, I'm wiping down every surface with this combo.
1/2 c. White Vinegar
1/2 c. Honest Free & Clear Dish Soap
15 drops dōTERRA Lemon Essential Oil
8 or 16 oz. Glass Spray Bottle
Place the vinegar in a measuring cup and warm in microwave
Add dish soap to warmed vinegar in spray bottle
Add essential oils
Shake & spray down
**you only need to warm the vinegar when mixing with the soap, not every time
Your alarm rings and what's the first thing you do?
Check your email? Run through your to-do list? Hit the snooze button until the absolute last possible second? What if I told you that your morning is sacred and it has the ability to impact your entire day ahead? Would you change anything about your routine?
I have read time and time again that a common thread amongst successful leaders, entrepreneurs and influencers is a consistent morning routine. While we may not all be striving to be the Oprah's of the world, there is value in creating consistency and setting intention.
So maybe you don't classify yourself as a "morning person", but what if you took just a few small steps to invite a little more intention into your day? I speak to this practice because it is close to my heart. Don't get me wrong, I have fallen off the wagon many times... be it because I've been up all night with a newborn or because I simply didn't make it a priority. But every time I fall off, I notice it in a major way. So I choose to pick it back up and I commit to it again and again. What I've learned is that it's not about perfection, but instead it's about practice.
1. Write a gratitude list - write down at least three things that you are grateful for. Whether you use a dedicated Gratitude Journal or a notebook, getting your thoughts down on paper and processed through your brain can shift your outlook on the day ahead. You're beginning from a place of gratitude within your heart and your body.
2. "I AM" statements - write down 30-50 (yes 50) "I AM..." statements and keep them by your bedside. Each morning, pick them up and read them to yourself (especially on the grumpy days). These statements can be ever changing, based on what you're personally going through, but let them be powerful affirmations. "I am open. I am willing. I am learning to listen to what I need deep down..." etc.
3. Move your body - I love to go through a gentle sequence to wake my body up, while still lying in bed. Here is an example, but choose any movement that works in your body, to get the blood flowing and circulation active:
4. Avoid technology - REALLY avoid it for at least 30 minutes. Give your brain and your body a chance to wake up, before introducing blue light and technology. This not only allows you to stick to your morning practice, but also lets you intentionally move into your day without distraction of email, social media or the news.
5. Meditate & Breathe - I have recently been practicing Kapalabhati Pranayama for 3 minutes each morning before meditating. It's invigorating and warming first thing, which I love. Morning is a sacred time for meditation. Your mind has been influenced by very little and is still quiet from rest. You can choose to sit in silence or in a guided meditation - anything that gives you an opportunity to drop into presence.
So, are you open to creating an intentional morning practice? I'd love to hear how your morning begins! Small steps, consistently.
STUFFY NOSE STEAM CUP

You know that feeling when you step into a new situation, experience or even relationship and you feel really confident, connected and grounded? Maybe you planned for the moment, did all of your homework, vetted out all possible outcomes, thought about it, meditated on it, prayed about it, all ahead of time. READY FOR ANYTHING, RIGHT?
What about the times when you're unexpectedly faced with a new experience, transition or change? When you have to make a quick (important) decision that you weren't quite prepared for or you're faced with unexpected conflict? Does your confidence and connection slip away? I bet it's still there - it's just not in our nature to tap into it, when we aren't expecting to. Our nature is to protect, to defend or to panic.
But what if there was a way to train our bodies to come back to it? To feel our feet beneath us, the vitality in our breath, our body and to tap into what our intention is for the quick moment ahead. This is what I'm referring to as ANCHORING first. When the house is a mess, the kids are screaming and crying and your patience is nearly non-existent - anchor first, then set an intention. I promise you, it can wait. The 30 seconds it takes you to anchor first, then to set an intention will be well worth it.
In yoga, we speak a lot to reACTING vs. reSPONDING and the importance of doing so with consciousness - which I stand behind. But this philosophy allows us to also bring our body into the picture. To feel connected, confident and grounded before choosing how to show up in the situation. AND it takes awareness and practice - you will fail (I'll be the first to admit that I have many times). But it gets easier. We are re-training our bodies to feel safe, when we are safe. To feel connection, rather than threat. And to chose to move with our own intention first.
In doing so, how can you symbolize to your body that you are ANCHORING? I chose to place a hand on my heart as my body's reminder.... OK, we're going to anchor first. You can feel your pelvis, rock your feet back and forth, a hand on your belly - whatever it takes, it'syour practice. When I feel my breath, then I know I'm present and I remind myself of my intention.
A little HEART CHECK - "Bailey, are you with me? I'm with you. I am you and you are me".
Any situation - big or small - is worth your time, your efforts, your energy and your attention, if you're choosing to go through it. Are you willing to try?
PS - you are MORE than enough

You know those moments when your yoga practice shows up for you off your mat and outside of the yoga studio? They're pretty magical, right? Or the moments when you look back on a day that felt insane and out of control and you see that you made it out alive - you survived? All of those moments happen on purpose.
I've been working through a lot of inner healing over the last year and it's in the moments when I feel really vulnerable, exposed or defeated as a mama, that I am trying to kinder to myself and remember that everything will be OK. That I will survive, I am capable and I am strong. But I notice that it's a constant practice and the more I practice, the more it is accessible. It's in the moments when my toddler boys are screaming and crying and hitting one another that I am reminded that I can set the tone for the outcome of this situation. Because Rumi was right... "What you seek is seeking you." I certainly don't always get it right... trust me. I scream and yell and then feel guilty, but justified. I am a work in progress, as we all are. But the practice of giving yourself grace and compassion (even when emotions are running high) can get easier. It's a deep, personal and internal practice of YOU. And YOU are beautiful and human.
What are you practicing with yourself?

I just celebrated a birthday this past week (thank you for all the wishes!) and I have to say... birthdays are my favorite! Growing up, and still to this day, my mom has always made a BIG DEAL about birthdays. She has a way to make you feel so special and so loved on your special day. Well, because it's your special day of course!
I remember many birthday mornings, coming down from my bedroom, to a house full of decorations and balloons. Special breakfasts and presents. Lots of love and always cheesecake. It was always special. Thanks mom!
Year 32 was a year of growth and healing. It came on heavy and strong and it was necessary work. So I am taking this philosophy into year 33, with a little less decorations and cheesecake, but all of the celebration. In an effort to give myself the internal praise that I often shy away from and to CELEBRATE what I am becoming, being and doing.
So, how will you celebrate YOU today?
I just returned from a family trip out to Arizona to visit my 97 year old grandpa. I never really thought much about it, but over the years, it's become apparent that getting older is a true stage in life, as is infancy, childhood and adolescence. Maybe it's become more apparent because we're lucky that he hasn't had any major health issues or concerns along the way... he's just getting older at this stage in the game. It's sparked a lot of curiosity within me to understand what is a common thread in my Papa that has allowed him to live this life for so long? And also, how can I be more present in my current life stage?
Just as everyone begins at the infant stage, goes through childhood and adolescence... everyone gets older. But it seems that there is this muddy, unclear and undefined period in life between 25-80ish. Where you might get married, might grow with your career, might have children, might move around and our stages in life get a little more variated. And trust me, I certainly see a difference in my 20-something self and my 30-something self. And then once you get to the "wisdom" years of 80+, most are in a similar stage again. In my short 32 years, I've been through many stages and i'm also aware that there are many still ahead of me. So when I'm 97, what could be my common thread? Food for thought, I suppose.
One thing I do know is that we are surrounded by stories of dear ones or acquaintances or family of friends or friends of friends who have suffered. Who have been hit with disease or illness and it's saddening. It hurts the heart to hear these stories. Maybe this is the predetermined life stage? That I'm not sure of. This is, though, a huge reason that I am so passionate about empowering and helping other people to make safer choices in health and personal care. To hopefully help to eliminate these stories currently and in future (and innocent) generations.
But back to the WHY and HOW and the common thread. What I see in my Papa is his constant curiosity and sharpness - through all life stages. He has the most brilliant memory of anyone I know - reciting stories that date back to the 1940s and 50s in full and colorful detail. His stories inspire me - to be thoughtful, present and constantly curious.
While I will never fully know what it is about him and his life stage, I do know that I am continually inspired by him, his wisdom and his curiosity.
What has inspired you most recently?
SAFE SWAP :: SUDS
SWAP OUT Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate
(SLS and SLES)
These specific ingredients show up most commonly in things with SUDS. From hand soap, to dish soap, to face wash and shampoo, they're found in many different places! I recently did a FB LIVE on the importance of avoiding these ingredients - in short though, they have links to being endocrine disruptors (aka your hormones) and irritate most skin.
My new favorite (free of SLS and SLES) shampoo is the BeautyCounter Daily Shampoo. I use just a quarter-sized amount 2-3/week when I wash my hair and it feels great!
Become a label reader. It's pretty cool.
If you haven't purchased through BeautyCounter before, I offer 10% back to all first-time customers, along with the free 60-day return policy.
GREEN SELF CARE :: DETOX BATH
Need a simple, skin soothing self care practice? Baths! And if not for yourself, then add this for your little ones (and cut the recipe in half). Epsom salts help with muscle pain and increase circulation, while baking soda is a natural cleanser, skin soother (including sunburn) and helps balance ph levels. Cedarwood is my favorite this summer because of it's natural antiviral and calming properties (it's also great for bugs!)!
1 cup epsom salts
¼ cup baking soda
4 drops Cedarwood Essential Oil
Fill cup with epsom salt and baking soda.
Add drops of cedarwood directly to mixture before adding to warm bath water
(this helps the oil disperse throughout the water)
Soak for 15-20 min & Relax
I've been doing a lot of dreaming lately and getting curious, exploring what it would be like if... (fill in the blank) and asking a lot from the Universe.
I want to know what it's like to feel my vital strength in the world. And I want the Universe to show me in a way that I can understand... because at the moment it feels massive and scary. I'm still trying to figure out how that will show up - haha.
This process has felt new (and uncomfortable). I am one to typically feel like I need to have everything figured out and planned and identified ahead of time. But at this moment in life, I'm feeling drawn to getting really curious. To understanding where my limiting beliefs show up and sitting with it to understand WHY. There is a vulnerability that shows up with curiosity. With being with the unknown and feeling ok with going through the process.
I want to know what it's like to not worry about having all the answers. I want to know what it's like to feel my uncertainty and to follow my deepest intuition.
Physically, I feel the work behind my heart.
This place that represents trust and support and guidance. It's a beautiful thing to observe and to sit with the unknown. So I'll be here, getting curious, dreaming big and soaking it in along the way. Would you join me?
SAFE SWAP :: SUNSCREEN
SWAP oxybenzone and octinoxate FOR zinc oxide
Hawaii has banned these ingredients for damage to the coral reefs, along with potential harm on the body. My favorite sunscreen this season is Countersun from BeautyCounter, and there many other great ones out there!
Just read the labels.
If you haven't purchased through BeautyCounter before, I offer 10% back to all first time customers, along with the free 60-day return policy.
GREEN CLEANING :: TOILET BOMBS
These little toilet cleaning bombs are great to fizz up the toilet before having people over, or while cleaning. They're super simple to make with super simple ingredients!
1 cup baking soda
¼ cup citric acid
1½ tablespoon unscented castile soap
15 drops Purify Cleansing Blend
Stir the baking soda and citric acid together until combined.
Slowly stir in the castile soap and Purify. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand.
Pack the pod mixture into a mold and let dry at least four hours. If the mixture expands above the mold, firmly press back down.
Once dry, remove the pods from the mold and store in an airtight container.
To use, simply drop one into the toilet, wait until the pod stops bubbling, and scrub away!
As life evolves, so has my journey into healthier options for my family and our home. Over the last 5+ years, I have consciously been working towards making better choices in foods, cleaners, health care, and products that we use in our house. Why? Because it's something that's important to me and I now know that everything on our shelves isn't always the safest for our bodies or our environment.
2.5 years ago, I jumped into a role of advocating for doTERRA essential oils. Because what I found is that not all oils are created equally and I found out the hard way when I was first pregnant, through unknown and serious skin rashes and breakouts from poorly created oils. I wanted to be a resource for people to not have to learn the hard way. So I made a choice to add doTERRA into my home and to replace our health care and cleaning products with essential oils because they work, they're simple and they're safe. I also made a choice to help educate people who want to learn about easy ways to do so in their life.
And now the evolution and my personal journey continues and I'm excited to share that I've decided to join another movement!
This one for me represents awareness and safety in the products I use on my skin, as a woman, every day. It's a beauty brand called Beautycounter and their mission is to get safer products into the hands of everyone.
There are many studies out there indicating that serious health issues are on the rise and are due, in large part, to our exposure to toxic chemicals. This matters. To me and my family and also to the future of our children. These issues cannot keep rising and we have a choice to make a change.
I grew up with a love of fashion and the beauty industry. Obsessive over the latest trends and the latest must-haves. My obsession faded while working in the industry when I no longer felt like I was contributing towards something bigger. And now I've found two brands who I believe in and who I can say help contribute towards a larger movement.
I have been a customer of Beautycounter since 2015 because I believe in the safety of their products. And I've recently joined them as a consultant to, once more, be a resource for people who want to learn about safer options. Not to join another Direct Sales company, trust me when I say I was very hesitant to do so, but because I've been asked for a long time about what I recommend. (And I love supporting people I know and care about!) Wouldn't it be wonderful if our children didn't need to worry about finding clean products? I think so, too.
Now this doesn't mean everything needs to be doTERRA or Beautycounter. I use other clean products too! AND I find value and firmly stand behind what these two brands advocate for and the changes they are making on the health care and beauty care industries.
My desire is that we can all learn a little more about what we put in and on our bodies. And that from that, change happens for the future of our lives and the future of the little lives out there!

When's the last time you made a conscious decision? Chances are you made about 35,000 of them yesterday (not a typo).
Did you make this decision based on necessity, or comfort? Limiting beliefs or the understanding that you are limitless? Was it influenced by your inner child or your older wiser self? Did you meditate/journal on it or did it just kind of fall into place?
I've been in a practice of intentional decision making over the last few weeks for something I'm personally working through. Upon this, I came across a 7-part meditation series all around making a decision. At first, the thought of taking 7 days to meditate on just one single decision amongst the 34,999 other decisions I'm making felt alarming, but then I knew it was just what was actually needed.
Now sure, I've taken time to make many decisions in my life. Days. Weeks. Months... we all have. But I wanted to give this particular experience a try. So I went through the series and it was more than I could have imagined. Maybe because I've not gone through this exact process before, but I came out with more clarity about myself, a deeper appreciation for the value of stopping to pause and a better understanding on why I make certain decisions the way that I do.
So the next time you might be feeling stuck on a decision, I invite you to step back and try these few daily practices:
